Formulating Your Very Own Relaxing Bath Salts Blend

To formulate your blend, you will need to first select the types of salts you wish to use.

Epsom salt is a favorite of many, they are of very high quality and truly do leave the skin feeling great!  They are also great for soothing aches and pain, and are one of the most recommended salts for soaking.

Sea salt is also great for the bath, you can of course mix sea salt with Epsom salts to get the benefits from both!

Dead sea salt is one of my favorites, it seems to impart a softness to the skin that is not typical when one uses Epsom salts alone.

Pink Himalayan sea salt is yet another type of salt.  It’s pink in color, and is truly a fabulously attractive salt that one can use for making wedding favors.

There are also other types of Himalayan salts, such as Black Himalayan sea salt and Red Himalayan sea salt.

Regular cooking table salt is another type of salt that can be used if you desire something that melts super fast.

Kosher and rock salt are wonderful salts that you can use if you wish to make something that resembles crystals.  These salts are larger in size that most typical salts, so they do require extra time to dissolve in the bath yet they are beautiful when colored with vibrant shades of mica pigments.

Celtic Sea salt is a type of salt you may never have heard of.  It’s coloring is more grey than white, which makes it an excellent salt to use with activated charcoal.

Creating Your Special Blend In Bulk

The best way to formulate your blend is to mix 2 parts Epsom salt with 1 part sea salt.

Add 1 part of another type of salt, and you will have created a great blend to use as a base for many fabulous bath & beauty products!

For example, 2 cups Epsom Salt, 1 cup sea salt and 1 cup of dead sea salt will make 4 cups blend.  Or you can create a blend by the pound using 2 pounds Epsom salt, 1 pound sea salt and 1 pound dead sea salt if you wish to make a larger batch.

If you truly wish to bulk up your blend for massive quantities then you can double or triple this by pound, to make as large of a batch as you require.

Tripled would be 6 pounds Epsom salt, 3 pounds sea salt and 3 pounds dead sea salt.  This would make a rather large batch of relaxing bath salts!

You can store your bath salts blend in sealed containers, or Ziploc bags.
